Prenatal Yoga: Strength, Flexibility, and Calm During Pregnancy

At Pomosa Yoga Studio, the prenatal yoga courses combine yoga, functional movement, and breathwork to support your pregnant body while creating space for both strength and softness.

The aim is to help you build a strong and trusting connection with your body, giving you practical tools for both pregnancy and birth – physically as well as mentally. You’ll learn to meet the changes of pregnancy with greater calm, confidence, and body awareness.

Pregnancy is a unique journey. Your body is changing, new emotions may arise, and there is a lot happening. Here, you’ll find space to slow down, tune in to your body, and give yourself exactly what you need.

What to Expect from the Prenatal Yoga Course

During the course, we combine prenatal yoga with functional training, as these two approaches support the body in different ways. Together, they create a safe and strong foundation throughout pregnancy, during birth, and in the postpartum period.

The functional training focuses especially on the pelvic floor, core, glutes, and posture – the muscle groups that carry and support your body in everyday life. Your breath plays an active role in creating connection with your core muscles and pelvic floor. You will learn how to use your breath to activate and support your core and pelvic floor during functional movements. This helps build strength, stability, and body awareness, while supporting your body both during pregnancy and after birth, when rebuilding the pelvic floor and core is important.

The yoga practice creates space to reconnect with your body through calm and presence. We work with gentle movements, mobility, stretching, breathing, and relaxation, where the breath is used in a softer and more releasing way. This helps you let go of tension, relax the pelvic floor, and create a sense of calm throughout the body, allowing you to move into a more mindful and present space during the many changes of pregnancy. At the same time, yoga invites you to slow down, listen inward, and strengthen the connection with yourself, your body, and your baby.

Together, these practices provide you with strength, flexibility, and calm – as well as tools you can carry with you into birth and the time after.

You will also become part of a supportive community with other pregnant women. A special connection often develops, where you can recognise yourself in others, share experiences, and find support during the same stage of life. Many participants experience that these connections continue after birth – for example through postpartum yoga, where you can meet again, share the transition into motherhood, and allow your babies to meet in a calm and nurturing environment.
